Un día como hoy, pero de 1767, el comandante de Dragones Provinciales Juan Antonio Marín aconseja al gobernador Bucareli el establecimiento de una Guardia de San Lorenzo de Navarro, emplaza en los márgenes de la laguna de igual nombre, dando así, origen a nuestro querido pueblo.
